源氏物語にも登場する夕顔は、京都の人々に愛される題材です。
象彦が所蔵している可憐な下絵を初めて蒔絵作品として描きました。
この作品では夕顔の葉の色に濃淡をつけ、葉脈も金・黒で描くことで葉の明暗と奥行きを表現する
新しい試みに挑戦しています。
The jewelry box depicts beautiful Yu-Gao flowers, which also appear in the Tale of Genji.
In this work, we tried a new approach to express the lightness, darkness, and depth of the leaves by shading the color of the Yu-Gao leaves and painting the veins in gold and black.
